Why Have A Bounce House At A Birthday Party?

Have a child that is having a birthday party and you can not decide, or have no clue what to do for the theme? Have some great ideas, but no time or artsy-craftsy talent? This can be a mother’s yearly nightmare.

Make it easy on yourself this year and be the biggest hit on the block! Throw a bounce house birthday party!

A bounce house is every child’s favorite addition to any birthday party. I know that my daughter and her friends can bounce for hours on a bounce house. Throw in a slide, some balls or the hose and let the party begin… even after the birthday party.

McKenna's birthday cake and bounce house lighterWe looked at renting a commercial bounce house or water slide, but decided that for an extra $150 we could give her a quality bounce house that she could use for many summers.

Now, I am not talking the WalMart or Costco quality, rather the quality you can get from many of the retailers on the internet carrying names such as Kidwise, BlastZone, Magice Jump and others. For about the same price as the ones you get at the store, you can get a bounce house I can jump in… and I am not a small woman! We chose Bouncers Bounce House Inflatables for their low prices and quality service~ OK, Robin and I are Bouncers Bounce House Inflatables, but we like us! And we trust us! And we would do business with us!

Here is another great tip! Many versions of the residential of the bounce house can also fit in a large room, such as a basement of rumpus room. This gives you a great way to entertain the kids on cold, too hot or rainy days as well.

Another great feature of the bounce house is the fact that they are inflatable. This makes them portable and easy to install. Just blow them up, and most every bounce house will come with it’s own blower. The portability factor is great when it is time to move are if you want to take your bounce house to a friend’s house.

A bounce house can really spice up the party and make your child one of the more popular kids on the block. But more than that, you will make great memories for your children and the children that attend the birthday party. These are memories that they will cherish a lifetime and that is something that is worth your investment.

Is Having A Bounce House At A Wedding Tacky?

So, getting married and can’t dance? How about having a “first jump”? I was just on Yahoo’s Ask.com and a woman was asking:

So, I am planning my wedding for next year, and my fiance thought it would be fun to have a bounce house at the reception, and since neither of us can dance, we will have our first “jump” together as man and wife in the bounce house! I think it will be fun!
Do you think that will be too cheezy for a wedding?

What do you think? We love hearing from you! Please leave any comments or questions you have in the comments section.

Can You Clean The Bounce House And The Kids?

What other uses for your bounce house have you found? Here is one of my favorites!

Do you ever have times you look at the kids coming in from digging in the dirt, playing at the beach or grassy from cutting the grass? Do you cringe to let them in on their way to the shower? I have the answer for you!!!

We were at the beach today and when we came home I took one look at the kids and thought- “I just moped the floors and vacuumed”. Not wanting all that sand from the beach in the house, we squirted baby shampoo in the bounce house and let the kids take their bath while having a blast!

Makes you want to be four again, right?! I wanted to climb in…but then, I had fun spraying them with the hose.

Be sure to leave a comment! We love hearing from you!

How Do You Get The Kids To Clean The Bounce House?

GerberLife Grow-up Plan
So we were just discussing “How do you clean a Bounce House?” Now let’s discuss how to clean it with the least effort. Yep, get the kids to do it!

The best thing about this chore the kids have to do… they are going to LOVE it!

Like we discussed before, if there is mildew, spray some Lysol in the blower tube and then blow ‘er up.

Next, spray the bounce house down with the hose, add water and the kids! Step back and behold~ happy children and a clean bounce house.

One tip we forgot to include in the last post, make sure the inflatable bounce house or water slide is completely dry before you deflate and store.

How Do You Clean A Bounce House?

“How do I clean my bounce house?” is probably the most asked question we get asked. The question varies from basic cleaning to how do I get the mildew out when the inflatable has been left out in the rain.

Of course, the best recommendation is to put it away before the rain. But, if you are like me, the bounce house is out in the rain and there is no way I am heading out to put it away! Water will not damage the inflatable as it is made up almost entirely of synthetic materials but the inside of the base will get mildewed and the smell is hard to get rid of.

So, here are some of my best tips:

If you do get a mildewed smell, try spraying Lysol or some other disinfecting cleaner in the blower tube before inflating the unit.

Inflate the bounce house and sweep it out.

Use a good battery operated vacuum or shop vac and get the debris out of the cracks.

Use a mild soap and scrub the bounce house done as best you can. We used a broom to help scrub ours.

Was this helpful? Do you have any comments or suggestions? Please leave us a comment~ We LOVE hearing from you!!!
